What does JCW Pools do?

Three things, and they follow each other: new pool builds, pool remodels and new equipment installation. Most customers meet us for one and stay for the others.

Do you work on pools you did not build?

Yes. A large part of our remodel and equipment installation work is on pools built by somebody else, including pools that came with the house.

How accurate is the instant estimate?

It is a rough figure built from the options you pick, enough to know whether a project is in your range. The real number comes from an on-site consultation, because access, grade, soil and utilities all move it.

The lifecycle

One

It starts as a hole in the ground

Steel tied, lines run, the shape of the thing finally visible in the dirt. This is the stage nobody photographs for a brochure, and the stage that decides whether the pool is still right in fifteen years.

Two

You see it before we build it

We put a render in front of you and move the camera around your own backyard. Shape, finish, tile, decking, where the sun lands in the afternoon. You approve a picture, not a paragraph.

Three

Then the crew is in it for weeks

Gunite, tile, coping, deck, finish. Hands and trowels and a hundred small decisions about slope and joint and bond. This part is not glamorous and it is the entire job.

Four

And one morning, the water

A finished shell is a dry, quiet, slightly strange thing. Then the hose goes in and it stops being construction. By the afternoon the light is moving on the floor.

Five

It becomes the reason people come over

Saturdays. Birthdays. The hour after work when it is still a hundred degrees outside and the water is the only sensible place to be. That is what was actually being built the whole time.

And it stays right

Quality equipment, sized to the pool and installed correctly: pumps, filters, heaters, lights and automation set up so they simply work. That is the standard the whole build was held to from day one.

All of Laredo, and we know why that matters

Pools here run almost year round

With months of hundred-degree afternoons, a Laredo pool is in use far longer than one further north. Equipment works harder to match: pumps, filters and heaters clock more hours, which is why sizing new equipment correctly matters more here than in a milder climate.

The water is hard

Local supply runs mineral-heavy. Scale at the tile line and cloudy water turn up even on well-kept pools, and heater exchangers and salt cells wear faster for it. It changes which interior finish is worth paying for.

The ground moves

Much of the city sits on shrink-swell clay over caliche. The clay moves with every wet and dry cycle: cracked decking, shifted coping, shells needing structural attention sooner than they would elsewhere. Caliche is also why excavation on a new build needs planning, not optimism.
